My latest “EDC”, a Buck 181 (Odyssey) in Sandvik 12C27 with a textured “thermoplastic rubber” handle.Buck’s website has an online version of a factory outlet store, and that’s where I got it with a gift card for something I did at work. I’m a big fan of Sandvik stainless steels since I worked at A.W. Chesterton as a design engineer, and became familiar with Sandvik as a supplier. Most of Buck’s product line is 420 with an excellent heat treat, and that’s good too if a little generic. The handle of this knife is way more comfortable than it would appear. I like that it can be single-hand opened left or right handed. The blade is “pointier” than I like, but I'm careful and I can deal with it. I’m a little disappointed in the blade is way off center when the knife is closed, but it doesn’t hit the liner so no harm done.
